Whilst The Purpose Collective is made up of dozens of incredible writers, activists, campaigners and artists from across the globe, there’s a special group who keep it in motion.
Connie Khoo, ‘The Intern’ and Interviewer Extraordinaire
Constantly learning and communicating with different people, psyches, ideas, and cultures is Connie’s passion. Helping others to connect with open minds and hearts is her desire. In her spare time she drinks overpriced coffee at cute cafes that are prime for people-watching, cooks a lot without recipes (often to the dismay of her sister), and processes her changing hobbies and thoughts through writing, acting and ranting to her most trusted confidantes.
Melody Murton, Wordsmith and Designer
Melody Murton loves words. She loves speaking them publicly, crafting them into articles, editing the ones other people write, or drawing them. She loves communicating in ways that bring light and life, and aims to tell stories that are authentically engaging and empowering to those who hear them. Melody is convinced that every story finds its meaning in the Big Story of who God is and what He is doing in the world. Melody works part time at Red Church in Melbourne and enjoys hiking, craft, and nights in on the couch watching Netflix episodes with her husband Daniel.
Christopher Hoy, Resident Development Economist
Chris Hoy is passionate about seeing a world without extreme poverty and using evidence to help bring it about. He has volunteered for over ten years with various international development NGOs, including World Vision. Chris has gained experience working as a development economist for almost five years with organisations such as UNICEF and AusAID. He studied development economics at Yale university and blogs at povertyanalysis.com.
Kshitij Tiwari, Videographer
Ksihitij is a talented Nepali videographer working with leading international and local humanitarian organisations to create compelling films and short stories. He is also a specialised web designer and lifestyle photographer. You can see an example of Kshitij’s work here.
Jillian McHugh, Journalist and Development Writer
Jillian trained as a journalist in Perth, Australia but has taken her skills all over the world and had work published from countries including India and Africa. Her first trip overseas was a volunteer program in Nepal as a 16-year-old and she hasn’t looked back since. She also loves getting behind the camera and you can follow her on Instagram at @jillianmchugh.
Matt Darvas, Lead Storyteller and Founder
Matt is convinced that each of us has been made for a purpose. Each of us is created with a unique blend of skills, gifts, passions and opportunities that the world needs us to discover and live out if we are to flourish and see others around us reach their full potential. This used to be Matt’s ‘personal blog’ until he figured out it made more sense (and was a whole lot more fun) to write with some of the incredible change-makers Matt gets to meet around the world and is lucky to call friends.
