Storytelling from the field
Matt’s speciality is in telling powerful and dignified stories from some of the world’s toughest locations. Matt has a natural ability to work in complex cross-cultural settings, where he is able to quickly grasp the situation facing a community or individual, and then communicate this for audiences ‘back home’ in a way that helps them truly understand the situation and inspires them to action. Matt has been a presenter in films for leading Not-For-Profits, as well as writing content for NGO blogs, supporter magazines and the wider media
Nepal Earthquake Emergency Communications, World Vision International
During the 2015 Nepal Earthquake, Matt was one of the first Emergency Communications Officers to reach the epicentre. In the five days that followed, Matt helped World Vision International to communicate their humanitarian response and funding needs by fielding more than 40 interviews – including live television crosses, radio interviews and written pieces for major media outlets including CNN, BBC World, The Guardian and ABC.
Blog writing, One Goal Campaign

Matt assisted One Goal by travelling to collect powerful stories and testimonies from their overseas projects.
Advocacy and Campaign Consultation
Having worked on campaigns addressing issues including foreign aid, human trafficking, ethical consumerism, maternal health and child labour, Matt knows how to work with your team to create and implement a campaign strategy that mobilises citizens and achieves change at local, national and global levels.
World Cafe Nepal, World Vision International Youth
Matt worked with WVI Youth to help engage young people at the community level in Nepal to devise their own advocacy plan-of-action for combating child labour as part of the ‘Stop At Nothing’ Global Week of Action, using the innovative ‘World Cafe’ model.
World Vision youth has prioritized working with Matt on a range of collaborations including a youth cafe pilot that we took out globally and continue to build on. Matt was creative in the approach and helped us build launch and develop the approach. Matt’s natural communication style helped us draw people to the idea and see success.
